Project Overview
Problem Crying in public is still seen as a weakness. Especially in Berlin: a city that prides itself on being tough, people hide emotions behind techno, bureaucracy, and late-night Späti beers. Insight But Berliners are emotional. They just needed permission to let it out. Gen Z and Millennials are already crying online: on streams, podcasts, TikToks. If crying is going viral digitally… why not make it normal physically? Idea CryÖ: the world’s first AI that cries with you. A glowing egg-shaped robot placed across Berlin: in parks, at Spätis, outside the Ausländerbehörde, even in government press conferences. It makes crying in public socially acceptable… by making it absurdly funny. Execution CryÖ stations appeared overnight at iconic locations. People sat, cried, and shared their tears. Social chaos: Influencers livestreamed breakdowns, podcasters remixed CryÖ sobs into beats, youTubers launched “Cry With Me” sessions, musicians dueted with it, stand-up comedians turned it into a punchline. PR: CryÖ made it into government press conferences. Bureaucrats stamped papers through tears. And yes, Berlin queued for CryÖ longer than Berghain.
